     Come to the Gardens to help your students grow their science skills, plant knowledge and appreciation for the natural world. Programs emphasize student-led discovery through a variety of hands-on activities and guided explorations. Programs are cross-curricular and align with Colorado Academic Standards and NGSS. Students explore the Gardens on themed tours with expert guides in groups of 10 or fewer students with 1 or 2 chaperones and a tour guide (classrooms may need to be separated based on program materials and tour guide availability). Programs cost $6 per student for schools within SCFD, $7 per student for schools outside SCFD. One adult chaperone per every 10 students is required, one chaperone per every five students admitted free.      Field Trips at the Denver Firefighters Museum (DFM) are for everyone! The Museum offers discounted admission rates for groups who make their reservations at least two weeks ahead of time. Groups of 10 or more can reserve time to explore the museum on their own or guided by staff. Due to the size of the historic building the Museum is housed within the maximum group size is 40 individuals total. At DFM children and adults alike receive a glimpse into the lives of the region's early firefighters and participate in hands-on interactives and exploration stations focusing on fire safety. Pricing for adults starts at $7.00 and students start at $5.00 per person. Guided tours are an additional $1 per individual and can be booked along with several other add-ons.   Field Trips on Cottonwood Farms!

     We are now accepting reservations for school field trips. Field trips are available Monday through Friday, October 1 - 31 Most of our trips are for preschool to second grade. For higher grades, middle school to high school, we are able to offer a trip that would be more advanced and cover topics like water, soil health, and regenerative farming principles. Most groups spend about 1 to 1 1/2 hour for the total visit. Large groups will be broken down into smaller groups for touring. We do have some tent space for groups wanting to have lunch or snack. Please let us know if you plan this. We will be open regardless of weather. We have many students scheduled to visit. It is important that groups arrive on time. If you have schedule difficulties call Bob on cell phone at 303-931-1591 so we know you are running late. This is an outside activity and students should come dressed for the day's weather. We will be walking on grass and fields which may be wet or muddy.
